Free!Match Mine Classroom Sets
Match Mine is a fun and easy higher-level thinking game and a great way to teach primary math concepts. Students pair up to play. One student, the Sender, arranges game pieces on a game board. For Astro Talk (left), the Sender arranges geometric shapes on a game board. The Sender describes his or her layout to his or her partner on the opposite side of a file folder barrier. "Put your circle near the top of the board. Place the triangle on top of the circle with the long side touching the circle and the point pointing up…" As your students play Match Mine, they learn directional skills (on top, below, above, next to), vocabulary (circle, triangle, hexagon), verbal communication skills, direction giving and taking, and active listening. Each game comes complete with 9 sets of games and game pieces. A great cooperative center idea. Each game designed to teach different concepts. $5 each

Times Tables the Fun Way!
A Picture Method of Learning Multiplication Facts

Judy Liautaud & Dave Rodriguez (Grades 2–5)
Use a research-proven picture story method to teach multiplication facts. A study involving 756 third-graders, 18 schools, and 36 teachers compared learning multiplication facts the conventional way versus learning it the "Fun Way." The "Fun Way" post-test scores were significantly higher than conventional classes, up to 24% higher. The picture stories activate visual and verbal memory pathways, enabling visual and verbal learners to master this essential skill. Learning multiplication facts by rote memorization is a difficult task for many students. Offer an alternative route—the "Fun Way." 88 pages. DRT • $20

RTI & Math: The Classroom Connection
Estimates Considered, Logic Required, Data Imperative

Karen A. Kemp, et al.(Grades K–6)
The Response To Intervention (RTI) approach is applied to mathematics to help students who struggle with mathematics learning. This comprehensive resource provides research-based techniques based on the early grade standards and principles of mathematics as identified by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Thought provoking questions about student learning guide the teacher to the appropriate intervention. There are step-by-step procedures for implementation of each technique, along with measures to monitor students' progress. Reproducible forms allow for easy management and data collection, making this a valuable resource for every classroom. This book specifically addresses the fundamentals of math including the number system, computation, problem solving, and the all important language and vocabulary of math. 200 pages. DKRTIM • $35
