1. Power PC error
This indicates that the version of the Kagan software being run is not compatible with the Macintosh Operating System.

Resolution

2. Serial Number is not valid or is blacklisted.
Either the serial number that was entered is not valid, or it has been blacklisted due to abuse.

Resolution
The most common reason for this error is that there is a typo in the Serial Number. Please note:

  • Serial numbers do not contain the letter ‘O’, so anything that looks like an O is actually a zero.
  • Serial numbers are not case sensitive.
  • The dashes can be omitted or included; it will be accepted in either format.

If serial number validation is unsuccessful, please contact our customer support team at questions@KaganOnline.com or 800.933.2667. Please be ready to provide your serial number or include it in the email.

3. “Kagan software” can’t be opened because it is “damaged” or is from an “unidentified developer.”
This is an error sometimes seen on Macintosh computers running Mountain Lion OSX 10.X.

Resolution
Adjust the System Preferences by following the steps in the attached Mountain Lion Opening Error document. Download instructions.

3. How do I enter math or foreign language symbols in Kagan software?
Kagan’s software programs are text-based, so foreign language characters and complex math symbols may not be formatted properly when entered.

Resolution

  • There is a free, on-line keyboard for mathematical and foreign language symbols that makes the greater majority of characters compatible with Kagan software!
  • Go to: http://www.typeit.org/
  • Select Math or the foreign language character set you would like to use.
    • Type out the question with the symbols in the space provided on the Typeit website.
    • Copy & paste the question directly into the Kagan software.
    • After entering your questions (and answers if desired), save the game.
    • Select the Import/Export button, and copy & paste the questions into a WordPad text document. This allows you to save the questions & answers for future use.
