Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about space vocabulary. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Moon.” The matching card gives the definition of the vocabulary word: A natural satellite that goes around a planet. Every student in class receives one card with either a space vocabulary word or the definition of a space vocabulary word. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Moon card and asks, “What is a moon?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the definition of an astronomer. He asks, “What is the term for a scientist who studies space?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!

For example, one card reads, “Veins.” The matching card gives the body system that veins belong to, circulatory system. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of a body part or a body system. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Veins card and asks, “What system do veins belong to?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the skeletal system. He asks, “What body parts belong to the skeletal system?” His partner responds. This set features 32 multiple-choice Parts of Speech quiz cards to help students develop their familiarity with these parts of speech: adjective, adverb, noun, plural noun, pronoun, proper noun, and verb. To play, every student receives a Parts of Speech quiz card. Students then pair up with a classmate to quiz each other. For example, one student has a quiz card with a sentence that has the word “little” underlined. The student being quizzed must decide if the underlined word is a pronoun, adverb, adjective, or proper noun in the sentence. After quizzing both ways, coaching or praising, they trade cards and set off to quiz a new classmate with their new card. The repeated practice boosts retention of the content.
