Kagan Winter Academies 2025

For your chance to win a Winter Academy Scholarship, tell us why you should be selected and how you will share what you learn with your students and colleagues. Your desire to learn Kagan Structures is all you will need for class because tuition fees and complete course materials are covered for one 2025 Winter Academy workshop or institute! See the What You Win section in the purple box for more details.

There are three different application forms—one for practicing teachers, one for administrators, and one for student teachers currently enrolled in a college or university teacher education program. The online application form includes information about you, the 2025 Winter Academy institute or workshop you desire, and three open-ended questions for which your answers must be kept to a 350-word maximum. This year, the three questions are:

1) Why should Kagan select you to receive free tuition?

2) While adhering to Kagan's copyright policy, how will you share what you learn with other teachers at your school, district, or beyond?

3) What success have you already had in implementing Kagan?

You may either type your answers directly into the online application form or use a separate word processing program and then copy and paste your answers into the online application form. All applicants must submit a photo of themselves with their application. Your photo will only be used for promotional purposes in the case you are awarded a scholarship. Submitted photos have no influence on your application.

Prior Kagan Scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Scholarships

Many scholarships will be awarded—some for teachers and administrators, and some for student teachers. Scholarships are awarded based on the quality of applications.

What You Win

The scholarship covers tuition fees, and course materials for one 2025 Winter Academy workshop or institute. Travel, accommodations, Bonus Materials, and graduate credit are not covered. If you register for Kagan’s 2025 Winter Academy and are selected to receive a scholarship, your registration fees will be refunded.

Winners

Kagan’s Scholarship Committee will review applications. Winners will be announced via e-mail on or about December 1, 2024. All winners will be contacted by e-mail. Winners may be required to write a very brief article of their experiences for Kagan Online Magazine. Winners will also be required to submit a digital image headshot for scholarship promotional purposes.

Who Qualifies

Practicing Teachers and Administrators
You must be a PK–12 teacher, counselor, administrator, or principal in a public or private elementary or secondary school; or a university or college-level instructor.

Student Teachers
You must be currently enrolled in a college or university teacher education program to become a PK–12 teacher in a public or private elementary or secondary school.

Publicity Release

The winners’ names, school names, and applications will likely be published in Kagan's Online Magazine, announced in an e-mail, and posted at Winter Academy.

Terms & Conditions

You are not eligible to apply if you have previously been awarded a Kagan scholarship. Scholarships are for the 2025 Winter Academy only and are not transferable. For complete competition rules, click here.
