Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about the Bill of Rights. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “No double jeopardy.” The matching card gives the amendment that guarantees that right, Amendment V. Every student in class receives one card with either a right guaranteed in the Bill of Rights or an amendment. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Amendment V card and asks, “What right is guaranteed by Amendment V?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a right guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. He asks, “Which amendment guarantees freedom of the press?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
