Tell us your goals, your budget, and we’ll help you develop a plan to get every teacher trained and every student engaged!
Kagan combines three core professional development elements. We start with training, but don’t stop there! Our real goal is sustained full student engagement. To make that goal a reality, we highly encourage support in the form of Engagement Support Sessions and Kagan Coaching. This professional development trio is sequenced so the sum is much more powerful than the individual parts.
1. Workshops
At workshops, teachers experience the power of Kagan’s research-based teaching strategies designed to get every student actively engaged. Our new Everyone Answers! keeps every student actively engaged, all lesson.
2. Engagement Support Sessions (ESS)
ESS sessions are small group support sessions to help teachers implement Kagan Structures that they learned into their daily teaching. Support sessions bridge the gap between learning and implementing.
3. Kagan Coaching
Expert Kagan Coaches observe teachers as they implement Kagan Structures in their own classrooms to ensure fidelity and success. Teachers receive in-the-moment feedback, follow-up feedback. Leadership receives building-level feedback.
Kagan Model School Ranked #1 in District
Athenian Academy of Technology and the Arts was a “D” school when they started with Kagan. In 2025, they reached #1 in the district of 96 schools. This is especially impressive since they are a Title I school, the only one in the district to consistently achieve “A” grades.

Decrease in Discipline Referrals
Kagan is not a discipline program per se. However, a consistent finding is disciplinary problems are dramatically reduced in schools and districts using Kagan. Why? A primary reason is engaged students are not discipline problems. Another reason: Kagan is based on Cooperative Learning. Students do teambuilding and they work together in pairs and teams. In the process of doing teamwork, there is more cooperation, helping, tutoring, praising, and celebrating each other. Students develop friendships and gain a sense of belonging. View Infographic
