I am a new teacher and am trying to set up my class seating using the Kagan set up that I learned about in a pd. My issue is that in my new school I have a very tight space and 8 trapezoid tables. I have arranged and rearranged and have come to the conclusion that I must make 4 hexagon shaped tables to work in the space I have. I am wondering how I can implement seating with this arrangement. I will have between 4-6 per table. In some cases even 5. Can you still have shoulder and face partners if they are farther away? Does this affect the implementing of strategies? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can absolutely seat six students together - just have them be two teams of three for your RoundRobin or RoundTable structures. Then, when you want to use Pair structures, each student has a shoulder/face partner!
