Hello,

Which structures would work well for increasing student fluency at the elementary level?

Thanks,
Sydney

Great question! There are many structures to choose from that work well with fluency. Some of my favorites include Poems for 2 Voices, Songs for 2 Voices, and Quiz-Quiz-Trade. When using Quiz-Quiz-Trade, Partner A would ask their partner to read a phrase, focusing on their fluency. Partner B would read the phrase. Partner A would then give feedback and have Partner B try again. Roles are then switched. Rally Coach is another option where students would coach in a similar manner. Hope that helps!

I think that writing is the best tool for children to express every feeling and emotion. This way we are able to understand them and guide them towards more knowledge.
