What Do You Know? Class Set
The Brain-Friendly Game that Teaches Core Curriculum
Core curriculum has never been more fun or engaging! Each student team receives a double spinner and a deck of cards. One student draws the top card and spins the Subject spinner. It picks a subject, either Math, Science, Language Arts, or Social Studies. The student looks at the chosen word on his/her card. For example, if the Subject spinner landed on Math, the chosen word might be Right Angle. Next, the student spins the Game Action spinner. It chooses one of six different brain-friendly ways for the team to deepen their understanding of the chosen term. For example, the spinner lands on “I Draw, You Guess.” So the student draws a right angle for the team, and they guess what it is. The six Game Actions will have your students acting, drawing, teaching, defining, and applying need-to-know core curriculum terms. Just put the TeachTimer on the overhead projector and let it keep track of time for you! The TeachTimer counts either down or up, and sounds and flashes a "Time's Up" alarm. Great for giving students five minutes to write in their journals, two minutes for pairs to discuss a topic, or even 10-15 seconds of think time. Hall Pass Timer
Easily keep track of your students. Help them manage time when they're out of your room. Set the time you will allow students to be out of the classroom—anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. When a student exits the room, the student lifts the hall pass timer off the base (you can hang it on your wall or place it on your desk). Both the base and the hall pass keep track of how long the student has been away. Thirty seconds before time's up, a yellow warning light flashes on the hall pass.
